Elderflower Liqueur

A little bit of Summer in a bottle

Elderflower,
Large heads
15 each
Vodka,
Inexpensive brand, 70cl

Method

  1. Snip the florets off of the flower heads into a large jar
  2. Pour over the bottle of vodka
  3. Seal the jar, shake to combine contents
  4. Make sure the flowers are under the liquid and store for at least a couple of weeks, shaking occasionally
  5. Strain the liquid through muslin or kitchen paper into a jug and taste - add a little sugar and stir, if required
  6. Pour into pretty bottles and seal securely
  7. Makes a great present!
